Andrey Volkov

Project Manager (Partner – SPbPU scientific group) of the CBC OneDrop project

Graduated from the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute by M. I. Kalinin in 1980. In 1984 at the same Institute he defended his candidate thesis on “Development and research of locomotive robot for cleaning smooth surfaces” and in 2007 – his doctoral dissertation on “Robots, mechatronics and robotic systems”. Since 1985 he worked as an Associate Professor, since 2007 as a Professor, and since 2011 as a Head of the Automats Department of St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University (SPbPU). He is currently the Director of the SPbPU Higher School of Automation and Robotics. He has more than 130 scientific and educational papers, 27 of which are patents; has prepared 4 Candidates of Sciences and more than 24 Masters in the field of automation, mechatronics and robotics. He is a manager and an executor of a number of research works in topical areas of science and technology (automation, robotics, ecology, equipment for additive technologies, machine tools, etc.). In 2017 was awarded by St. Petersburg Government with the prize for achievements in the field of integration of education, science and industry. Prof. Volkov is a project manager at OneDrop.
