Laboratories Participating in OneDrop Project

The Laboratory of Green Chemistry, the focus is on minimizing the hazard and maximizing the efficiency of any chemical choice. One approach is also to find new solutions to prevent and decrease the environmental pollution. Department´s main function is to conduct research and development activities and provide teaching and supervision for graduate and postgraduate students. Department has specialized water analysis and water, wastewater and soil purification techniques in the following research areas.

The Laboratory of Intelligent Machines carries out research on energy-efficient power transmissions and automation for off-highway working machines and industrial processes. The laboratory’s areas of expertise include mechatronic machine design, especially using virtual technologies and simulators and demanding industrial robotics. The laboratory has collaborated extensively with industrial and it has participated in significant international research projects, particularly in the field of robotics.

The Higher School of Automation and Robotics is focused on training, which is able to meet the challenges of automation of technological processes in various spheres of human activity (in the food industry, medicine, theatrical machinery, in the automotive industry, etc.) based on the use of mechatronics technology and robotics. Mechatronics – a general direction for the automation equipment for the production of products for home and industrial use. Mechatronics is based on the three pillars of modern technology: mechanics (built on the use of actuators, equipped with a set of sensors to set the operating mode and the dynamics of their movement); electronics (as a means of controlling the controller interfacing with the machine drive mechanisms); informatics (software for machine control). Graduates of the department have enough open-mindedness and knowledge in the field of mechanics, electric and pneumatic-hydraulic drive, the element base of mechatronic systems, computer-aided design and programming.

The Department of Analytical Chemistry has a mixed structure of academic and research units which are consolidated by common management and staff combining educational and research functions. Department of Analytical Chemistry consists of 9 scientific-and-educational groups in accordance with the number of scientific fields being developed at the department for a given period of time. A permanent contingent of scientific-and-educational groups ensures the fulfilment of the department curriculum at all levels: general and special lecturing, holding classes in general and special workshops. In addition to the permanent scientific staff Department of Analytical Chemistry consists of an educational lab, which includes a teaching-and-support staff of the department.
